Innovation: An Entrepreneurial Advantage

Innovation, as an entrepreneurial advantage is part of our technological world, but it is not exclusive to it. Thought at the very heart of every innovation triggers entrepreneurship, allowing human beings to experience its reality as an entrepreneurial advantage.

Consider this statement:

“Thought is free.” William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare, by suggesting that “thought is free”, in Act 11, Scene 11 in “The Tempest” opened a fresh, new horizon for entrepreneurs. No longer could thought be deemed exclusive to the realm of the rich. Anyone could use innovative thought to his or her advantage at no cost. Innovative thought would improve the lives of others.

William Shakespeare, among many others over the generations, knew that thinkers had a distinct entrepreneurial advantage over others because they had new and different thoughts that could lead to towards innovation. Shakespeare’s innovative literary contributions changed the course of history because he had an entrepreneurial advantage of being able to think new thoughts.  .

What does innovate mean? 

Dictionary.com suggests that to innovate is to “to introduce something new; make changes in anything established.”

Innovation is “the introduction of new things or methods” or “something newly introduced”. In technology, an entrepreneurial project allows the opportunity for thinkers to develop innovations or methods of improving its existing technology. Those with financial means snap up innovations quickly, leaving those who are not well-to-do trying to survive financially. 

At the same time, there is always room for new thought, innovation and more entrepreneurial projects. Anyone with clarity of thought can come up with something that is different. If Shakespeare could think like an entrepreneur and recognize the reality that thought is free as an innovation in his era leading to entrepreneurial advantage in the literary world, so can you.

When you begin to realize that you have clarity of thought and can come up with new and different ideas that could lead to innovative projects of various kinds in any realm of endeavor, life can become exciting in terms of potential entrepreneurship. It still takes a positive, constructive and proactive approach to your new ideas to take them further. At the same time, if you can come up with an original thought leading to innovation, you may be able to think it through further and realize the actuality of entrepreneurship.

At no point in time has anyone ever captured all of the possible new thoughts and ideas that could lead to innovation and new entrepreneurial projects.
