Easy Ways to Write Faster as a Freelance Writer: Do You Write Every Day?

Every freelance writer has the opportunity to earn unlimited income by writing, but not all articles he or she writes are ones that will pay large dividends. To meet a certain level of income, when a freelance writer is writing as a source of income, he or she needs to be able to write quickly and accurately.

Sometimes, writing faster means writing better too, as thoughts and ideas begin to flow more freely, but it takes practice.

John Soares, from “Productive Writers” suggests in terms of writing faster, “Create deadlines for specific projects, or portions of projects. Be realistic, but also set deadlines that challenge you.”

There are many ways to challenge yourself as a freelance writer, to write faster.

Consider the following tips.

Write daily.

When a freelance writer writes on a daily basis, there is less likely to be writer’s block, as writing quickly becomes a normal part of one's daily routine. The freelance writer who writes daily is continually looking for new ideas to expand upon. He or she learns to manage his or her time well. When a freelance writer designates a specific time to write on a regular basis, in other words sets an appropriate time for him or herself to write, other day-to-day events seem to be less disruptive.

Set a word limit for your articles.

Setting a word limit for articles enables a freelance writer to challenge him or herself to limit the content of articles. It is faster and easier to focus on writing an article, once a word limit goal has been set. While word limits are always arbitrary to some extent, writing a second article may be a better idea when the content appears excessive.

Set a time limit for your articles.

Setting a time limit for writing articles helps a freelance writer to concentrate on his or her topic. For example, writing four hundred words can take half and hour, an hour or two hours, depending upon how the freelance writer delegates his or her time. Avoiding interruptions during that specified time allows the freelance writer to stay focused on what he or she is writing.

Organize the key points in your article before writing it.

There should be specific key points in an article that serve as guidelines for freelance writers. Once these key points are established and organized, adhering to them allows the writer to know exactly where the article is going in terms of its literary content. A lot of miscellaneous information is not necessary.

Find accurate online sources to verify your freelance writing.

Having verifiable online sources helps to reinforce the validity of a freelance writer’s work. The context of an article is always important. With other online resources to validate it, the freelance writer often writes faster, as well as more accurately.

Use a spell checker and a grammar checker.

A spell checker and grammar checker can make a freelance writer’s faster and easier. Few writers write with perfect spelling or grammar skills and can waste time making corrections. Remember that anything worth writing is worth writing well.

Write on topic.

Adhering to specific topics eliminates wandering or meandering when writing and helps to increase the speed of writing projects.

These basic guidelines will help you to write faster, as well as increase the professionalism and accuracy of your freelance writing. They will also help to increase your sales and overall earnings over time.
