Explain Contradictory, Contextual, Eclectic Writing Style: Does This Present a Dilemma For Freelancers?

Contradictory contextual eclectic writing style may pose a dilemma for editors and publishers.

How a freelancer chooses to write is optional, but at the same time, editors and publishers have distinct guidelines with respect to publication, particularly on the Internet.

According to dictionary.com, the word contradiction refers to “the act of contradicting” or “the state of being contradicted”. What is evident is “denial”, “inconsistency” or “discrepancy”. Contradictory context may be relative to a traditional train of thought, a writer’s personal preference, or that of an editor or potential publisher. Contradiction may be an intentional, historical contradiction that reveals truth.

On the other hand, according to dictionary.com, eclectic writing pertains to writing content by “selecting or choosing from various sources”. There is no singular “system” as this kind of writing contains “the best elements of all systems”.

Writing style is an important part of freelance writing freedom, but readability is important and thus, writing style comes into play.

According to thefreedictonary.com, writing style refers to “the style of expressing yourself in writing”. There are many factors to be included in writing style, including genre, elements and form. The topic chosen can help to determine its form and it may vary considerably. What an editor or publisher expects from a freelance writer plays an important role.

Contradictory contextual eclectic writing style is contemporary and relatively new, particularly with respect to publication on the Internet, which has search engine optimization (SEO) guidelines and standards for publication.

The likelihood of publication for contradictory contextual eclectic writing may appear questionable, although it is part of freedom in respect to writing. Freelance writers write for the purpose of publication, marketing and sales. Anything that is controversial or contradictory may prove to be a limiting factor when it comes to publication.

Successful freelance writers are able to work with a wide variety of writing styles.

Eclecticism in writing is an art in itself.

Contradictory context within its right setting can be an effective writing tool that brings truth to light, often from a different perspective. Contradictory contextual eclectic writing may be difficult for others to comprehend. This style of writing can prove to be lucrative. Perhaps its most appropriate context lies within a philosophical realm of thought, but even philosophical thought often spills into other realms including reality and fiction.

Freelance writers are encouraged to write with an eclectic writing style, as this continually expands the literary horizon. Taking caution with contradictory context is vital, as this can work in a positive or negative direction in respect to publication, marketing and sales.
